Overview of Transfers
Sine Karura is a parachain connected to Kusama's "Relay Chain", any token must first be sent to Kusama, then to Karura. In the future, the steps in this process could be reduced, but this is the situation right now. Here is a quick diagram showing what needs to happen to move tokens to Karura from outside (like an exchange) or from Kusama to Karura.
KSM Withdraw/Deposit to an Exchange
🚨 Exchanges do NOT currently support direct withdraw/deposit KSM to/from Karura network. Please do NOT send KSM to an exchange address on Karura App.
How do I send KSM from an Exchange to Karura?
1.Please consult your exchange regarding details of withdrawing KSM to the Kusama network. 
Typically, users are asked to enter the Kusama account on the Kusama network where'd they like to receive their KSM. Kusama addresses always begin with a capital letter (e.g., A, D, M, Q, etc.). Here's an example of a Kusama address CmkSxUYMVzGjfseJ4PFAZQ8jXzsJh6kuqbg8oCkqeSPWyzw.
2.You should be able to check the balance on the Polkadot App - Kusama Accounts once the withdrawal is successful. 
3.Use Inter-Kusama Transfer on the Karura App to send KSM from Kusama network to Karura network. Note: DO NOT SEND KSM to a Karura Ledger address. Ledger does not support these types of transfers.
How do I send KSM from Karura to an Exchange?
1.Use Inter-Kusama Transfer on the Karura App to send KSM from Karura network to Kusama network. Do NOT send directly to the exchange. 
2.You should be able to check the balance on the Polkadot App - Kusama Accounts once the withdrawal is successful. 
3.Once, you've sent your KSM from Karura to Kusama, please then follow your exchange's instructions on depositing KSM from the Kusama network. 
KAR Withdraw/Deposit to an exchange
Exchanges that support the Karura network and the KAR token would support direct withdraw/deposit KAR to/from Karura network. Please confirm with your exchange on how to send KAR tokens to the Karura network. Typically, users are asked to enter the Karura account on the Karura network where'd they like to receive their KAR. Karura addresses always begin with a lower case letter (e.g., a, d, m, q, etc.). Here's an example of a Karura address oVhzuixfFEdg2JRjFfPRxzgcSrddnst3UvTpu4Zcn1KCpAn.
You can always send a small amount to verify before sending the full amount. 
Transferring KSM from Kusama to Karura (polkadot.js extension)
1) Connect to apps.karura.network and select Cross Chain and Inter Kusama Transfer. 
2) Select Kusama as theFrom Chain and Karura as the To Chain. The From Account is going to be the one that you've connected to Karura Apps (make sure this account has KSM on Kusama). For theTo Account, select the Karura account where you'd like to receive the KSM. Enter the amount of KSM you'd like to transfer. Click Transfer. Sign the transaction.
Note: You'll see the amount of KSM available to transfer from Kusama above the Amount field.
Transferring KSM from Karura to Kusama (polkadot.js extension)
🚨 Exchanges do NOT currently support direct deposits of KSM from Karura network. Please do NOT send KSM to an exchange address on Karura App.
1) Connect to apps.karura.network and select Cross Chain and Inter Kusama Transfer. 
2) Select Karura as theFrom Chain and Kusama as the To Chain. The From Account is going to be the one that you've connected to Karura Apps (make sure this account has KSM on Karura). For theTo Account, select the Kusama account where you'd like to receive the KSM. Enter the amount of KSM you'd like to transfer. Click Transfer. Sign the transaction.
Note: You'll see the amount of KSM available to transfer from Karura above the Amount field.
